Really?

According to the article, plans were made to show HBP on ABC Family back in March 2010.   ???

ABC Family to air Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince in Late 2011

We're in a very slow news period. So much so, we've been forced to post this very trivial story. Variety is reporting that ABC Family will be airing Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince in late 2011: Deal continues a relationship between ABC Family and Warner Bros. Domestic TV Distribution, which sold the title to the channel. ABC Family also has the rights to the first six "Harry Potter" features, via WBDTD, with "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" set to air in late 2011. Read more at this link. Thanks to Daniel for the tip!

ABC could not get the rights until HBO had stopped airing it.

Half Blood Prince is being added to the ABC Family Harry Potter weekends at the end of the year. I'm assuming it will be when they have the HP marathon during the 25 Days of Christmas. I'm a little interested to see how/where they fit it in, since it's already a 4 night marathon to begin with.

Just throwing that out there.  ;D

Haha, yeah, that will be interesting. And hopefully they will finally add In Noctem into the movie, and "I'm not worried, I'm with you." Ahh, that'll be so great.

I think they get DH1 and 2 in early 2013 and late 2013 respectively. A whole marathon of all the movies with deleted scenes added in. Wow.

Exactly. I love that. Like with HBP, it was on all the time so I'd watch for like 20 minutes to kill time before going out or in between two other shows or something. Or I'd have it on in the background. And every now and then, when you're hungover and feeling like hell, you'll catch it from the beginning and by the end you feel so much better. It's magical.

So soon!

It don't even know why this excites me when I own the movie. And it happens with each of them.

Lmao...same here!  I think it's just the fact that I now know they'll be on all the time.  Like, if ever I need background noise, or something to watch even for just a little while, I'll have an HP somewhere on TV.  Or hell, I can just randomly have a night where I sit and watch it spontaniously.  Not having to plan time to watch.

That was the summer of 2010 for me.
For some reason when ever it was on I felt inclined to sit down and watch it, no matter where it was in the film.

Awesome. I can't get enough of that movie.

And I already watch Half Blood Prince whenever they air it.
